Hey all,

I'm new to the boards. I have a VW Touareg and have aqcuired my father's old 05 Cayenne S. I'm thinking about selling the newer Touareg and keeping the Cayenne for 2 years and getting a new car after that.

The only thing is that the Cayenne has this whining sound when the car is in motion. At first, I thought maybe it was a timing belt? But realized that the sound only comes on when the car is moving. It's a rarity that the sound does not come on, but when it doesn't I absolutely love the car!

I read somewhere that the 04-07's have common issues, such as ignition coils, driveshafts, etc. Could this be a driveshaft issue? Is this something that could be fixed by warranty? How long does the warranty on the vehicle last for? Is there an extended warranty available for purchase? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
