WOO first post, 06 turbo questions

So, im going to be a newbie to the porsche world. I traded a highley modified 93 turbo supra for a 06 turbo cayanne today.

Just wondering if there are things i should be aware of or known problems that i need to address when the car arives.

Ill also need to do something with the ugly wheels. Got any suggestion on a silver cayanne... Nothing to expensive... my wife loves curbs.

Thanks
Shawn

there will be no excuses for your wife hitting the curb...
you can set the passenger mirror to swivel downwards when you parallel park so you never curb the rim!

as for cheaper wheel options i'd look into 22" techno sport replicas
they look awesome

also saw a recent post; fellow 6 speeder selling white techart rims for a good price. techarts are solid wheels! i would repaint black for a silver cayenne

Welcome from a former 94' turbo supra owner who also bought a cayenne turbo. Seems like we just can't get away from the turbo..

oh and if your interested in mods which by previously owning a supra you probably are. There is a group buy for the bypass pipes on the forum. Check it out if your interested you can save about $80.

thanks guys.

It being shipped so i will not see it until next week. They picked up the supra last night.

Do any of you have one of these that are out of warranty. This one has 59K miles, and im assuming the warranty is only good to 60K. Is that something i should be worried about? And is there a place that does aftermarket warrantys.

Ill look for the link to secondary cat bypass group by. I did that mod on my G500. No real power increase. It went from sounding like a vaccum cleaner to low rumble.

as for wheels i was thinking something in the silver color to match the paint. The G500, and suburban have black wheels so i want to do something different.

Yeah i bought my CTT out of warranty. As for the worrying part, im not really worried seeing as yours is a 06 it should see far less problems. From what a I've readed the 03' and 04' they had a lot of bugs they had to work out and so after that they become much more reliable. Well the cayenne isn't as fun as a supra, but for what they are, a big SUV, they are awesome. Hey and if you have 3 people riding with you they won't have to sit sideways in the back seat like the supra..haha

You're going to love your CTT! My 2006 CTT has 52K trouble free miles.

For the money D10's are tought to beat (I think Peter at Wheel Experts is running a 6 spd special). They look awesome. If you want to stay with an upgraded factory look you can try the Porsche TechnoSport wheels. They're fairly inexpensive.

those do look good..

I was at the dealer today which i think i was handed a line of poop... anyway they have a 09 GTS that had multi spoke wheels that looked very nice. Said it was $900 option.. seems cheap or maybe that stock wheel and they just added $900 to window sticker..

We have a client with a 09 thats white on dark tan.. he has wheels that look like these but they are bigger and white.

Welcome Kerr,

Im sad to hear you got rid of your Supra, it was beautiful. This site seems to be a supraforums annex.

We just got my wife an 08 CS... I couldnt talk her into a used turbo for some reason and Im potentially looking at a used turbo as well once I sell my 550i.

Take it easy and throw up some pics once you receive it.

I think it only works if you have the comfort memory package... e.g. the memory seat, and comfort package... what you do if you have that option is leave the passenger mirror switched on as if you wanted to adjust the passenger side... put the Cayenne in Reverse... the mirror will dip down on its own... and readjust once you put in it drive...
