Hardwire radar detector to rear view mirror

Hi,

Did anyone do this? I see several hardwire postings that hardwire to fuse box. What are the pros/cons of hardwiring to the rear view mirror. Does anyone have instructions for doing this?

I hardwire a passport 8500 to my wife's 09 Cayenne. I followed this set of instructions and it worked perfectly. You need to make sure that you have the right size Torx screwdrivers...

mattjtaylor50 is infamous around these parts

it really depends where you want to mount the detector

best place is right under the rear view mirror. convenient/easy access to homelink rather than wiring down to the fuse box

both methods work the same
