Cayenne Dummy/Valet Key - Anyone had to replace? Best place to buy?

I bought a pre-owned Cayenne Turbo and it doesn't appear to have the dummy key (prior owner doesn't know where it went). I normally wouldn't care, but the CTT does have the keyless entry and go so that makes me want to have the dummy key to leave in the ignition all the time (as some have suggested this makes the keyless go actually a keyless go as you can leave the key in your pocket the whole time).

Anyone know the best place to buy the dummy key?

Thanks, Dan

Hey Dan,

I bought my 2005 CTT and the same thing happened. Any dealer can order th kessey for only about $20. They just need you VIN. There is no programming needed for the kessey and it is made of plastic. There is also a valet key, and I believe that the last year they sold them as standard was the 2006 year. That key is plastic as well, but it has a chip in it, so it can start the car. The other 2 keys will be needed so the dealer can program that valet key. That costs a little more. I think most dealers will charge about $75 for the valet key and $50 to program.

Funny you also sold a 335i. I had a 2007 335i coupe, and sold for my 996. Best thing I ever did. The 335i was a great car, and much faster than my 996, but it was no Porsche.

Correct, about $20. Part is 955-637-241-01 - my car file was sitting right beside me...

Thumbs up

Thanks OCNY and AtlShaver... great info. I'm in need of getting a replacement dummy key, and knowing the part number and price makes this one less thing to worry about. What a great site.
