just waiting for my brake light to come on to replace. i will replace all brake hardware as well and will post before/after pics

i haven't found any info on brake flush? how can you tell if your vehicle needs it and are you guys flushing your brakes when you are changing pads/rotors. do you need special tools?

Porsche recommends replacing brake fluid every 2 years, I can't currently find a millage spec tho. No special tools are required but if you have either a pressure bleeder or shop air operated vacuum bleeder it will make it a one man job. If you feel confident
replacing your brakes you shouldn't have any issues replacing the fluid. I would just replace the fluid when your brakes need replacing, or sooner if it's +2yrs. Don't cheap out on the fluid either.

Yeap, Porsche recommends every 2 years and although I think its a bit overkill, I let the dealer flush it anyways just in case any part of the brake system fails, they won't try to deny my warranty. IIRC, it was $100-$150 at the dealer. DIYer will just have to pay for the fluid, $10-$20. To answer your question, fresh brake fluid are almost clear. As it gets older, it becomes yellowish which is fine to me. But when it starts turning brownish, time to flush it. In my experience with other cars, usually take 3-4 years or 40k-50k miles.

Btw, if you wait until the brake light to come on, then you have to get new pad sensors too. I believe they are around $20 for the pair.

Hope that helps!
