wondering if anyone could diagnose my brake issue:

when my car is in park (ignition on) and i apply the brake pedal i am hearing a clicking noise in the center console where the drive selector is. this is definitely new and does not sound healthy.
when the vehicle is in drive there is no noise and the braking power seems adequate.

any ideas thx

 

It should have always done it if it is the noise I am thinking of. It is the detent releasing so you can take the vehicle out of Park once you have applied the brake. I can't comment on whether or not the volume or noise sounds abnormal in your case, but they should all do it if working right.

like what porschespeeddemon said, mine does the same too since day1. seems perfectly fine to me

 

most vehicles do this, some more noticeable than others. it is the detent mechanism allowing the vehicle to be shifted out of park, like speedemon said.

 

Matt - my GTS does the exact same thing.
