Power steering question

Just had the 60K service done 3k miles and a few weeks ago. i just took the car on a drive to S. Carolina and back, hence the mileage.

edit: the car is an 06 CS, that ive owned from new. havent had any significant problems with it yet.

anyways, the power steering 'went out' on me yesterday. checked the reservoir, it was below the min line.

what would cause the fluid level to drop to quickly? shouldnt it have been topped off at the service? or could there be a bigger problem, like a leak?

will top off today, and check to see what happens to the level.

in the manual, it says only use 'porsche authorized hydraulic mineral oil...blah blah blah" what is the recommended oil?

doesn't the 60k include a PS flush?

If I had to guess it sounds like someone didn't flush/fill/bleed properly - if you are leaking that much fluid you should see it on or around the pump, or on the ground... I don't know what porsche mineral oil fluid is, but I'd check with any autozone or napa for a replacement fluid and it's probably a dexron VI ATF fluid....

On the 2010 Transsyberia it is Pentosin CHF 202 S. I'm sure yours is similar.

jsc1m3 is infamous around these parts
The fluid is either pentosin ch11s or 202s , usually in a silver and blue can, or a green and red can. You most likely have a leak, check the front steering cooler, and down by the pump there is a common fitting that leaks, also the pump shaft seal could be leaking
