Powerkit is $19K if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, you get the factory warranty with the Porsche kit, but you can get the same stuff done 1st class for about $10K if you do it privately.

hmm...not sure why it doesn't start with an "x" like all the other power kits, but the option code appears to be "E81 - Power Kit Turbo".
The powerkit option also requires 20" wheels - I'm guessing that has to do with the bigger brakes.

The powerkit requires 19"wheels, which I ordered since I'm probably going to sell once I get the CT since I'll be riding on 22"s. The powerkit package also includes a suspension upgrade. Not cheap but warranty coverage gives me major piece of mind!
does the car loose any of it's off-roading ability with the suspension change? i understand the tires will probably be more road-specific, but do the changes made to the suspension affect it's off-roading prowess?
GT2,
Since the suspension is air controlled, I imagine that you will still have the "off-road" heigh clearance available.
Your biggest issue will be wheel size. Since you need a minimum 19" rim to clear the brakes, you inherently have less sidewall than the recommended 18" off-road/winter tire size. I can't quantify the limitation, but I don't think it will affect 99% of all Turbo owners.

true, true. but the reason why i believe the ct is such a great car is b/c it is can be a triathlete....great handling, braking, acceleration AND off-road agility unlike most others! (okay, that would be a quad-athlete!lol). anyways, the lure of the ct to me is that can be a bad-*** off-roader as well as on-roader. if you take away the off-roading agility, then why not just get an e55 or m5? who needs a big station wagon??? the reality of it is, many suvs are nothing but big station wagons, with, in reality, not much more cargo space! i really don't understand the phenomenon...to sit up high??? please enlighten!!!
Well if you want to do serious off-roading, get the CT without the Power kit. That way you can have your bling wheels when you want them, and when you head out to the dunes you can throw on a pair of 18" wheels with more sidewall.
Porsche no doubt offers the powerkit on the Turbo for 2 main reasons:
1. They make $hitloads of profit from selling them
2. They know that an overwhelming majority of CT owners favor speed & handling over off-road capability
If you want to have your cake and eat it too, then just get an aftermarket ECU & Air Suspension controller and you've got most of the powerkit components for a fraction of the price and you don't have to have 19" rims.
