Another 1k miles and another 1 qt of oil

Almost 8k miles in 6 months and it's been 8 qts of add on oil. No problem though, dealer said it's "normal". Just think, it's "normal" to "add" 40 qts of oil in 3 years of driving avg annual miles. Guess we better stock up now, eh?

the add oil light comes on along with a message and an annoying ding. i could use that tag, but too bad "tires" (to wear bars at 6k miles!) and "gas" (11 mpg) don't fit on that tag too :-)

Of course there must be, but what do you do when your dealer tells PCNA about it and they tell the dealer anything under 1k/900 miles is "normal"?

trying to assume that its normal although it hurts! is your car the only one that consumes so much oil?

i've posted about this on four seperate cayenne message board sites and have yet to find anyone experiencing the same (or close) usage.

can it be a problem like the 996 that they have to replace the engine?

could be but until the dealer and PCNA stop referring to it as "normal", it's not a "problem" for which they'll be seeking a solution.

Hey, it might be a waste of your time... but you should honestly file a lemon case against PCNA concerning your Cayenne Turbo. Thats just complete BS, I have about 10k miles here and the oil light has never come on.. sorry to hear about this man.

lol, i've never really gotten the impression they care.

btw, i don't think oil consumption is sufficient for winning a lemon campaign. that said, i've had more issues with this damn thing than ALL the other new cars i've bought - combined (20 years worth)!

ben, have you tried retaining legal counsel to get them or the dealer to buy back your car?

no, that's a major PIA and would put me in the *uck seat if i need anything done on the CGT. rather, my wife likes the truck (it's her's anyway) and thank god we leased it (largely because it was a new model pcar with all the reputation that goes with that). so, i'll just keep filling it with oil and we'll just turn it in when it's done and think much longer and harder about buying another pcar in the future. if someone comes out with something my wife likes more, we'll just dump it and switch.
