Looking to go from an 2006 Audi A6 4.2 to a 2008 Cayenne Turbo. Everything I know about the Cayenne makes me think I won't be missing my Audi once it is gone, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience going from the Audi MMI with click wheel to the Cayenene (touch screen??)

First let me say that the Nav on my Audi sucks! Any $100 Garmin is miles ahead, but with that said, the click wheel interface (at least to me) is brilliant. Controlling radio, cd, and other vehicle functions has become so easy that I can do it all while driving and not miss a beat. The steering wheel controls are also great in my opinion.

So. . . what will I love about the 2008 Cayenne head unit / interface / steering wheel controls and what will leave me wanting the Audi MMI? Any input would be appreciated.

 

It's quite user friendly 2009 was
the first year with the updated birds eye nav touchscreen.
But in my 2008 gts it's an ok system. Not
touchscreen an doesn't compare to Lexus ease
of use but a good system.

 

I had a retrofitted Audi RNS-E nav in my Audi S4. This is the version before they put the click wheel on the console. Same interface, the control **** is just on the unit and not on the console.

I have an 04 CTT wnd the interface is VERY similar. The units were both made by Harmon Becker and have the same general flavor to them. Different, but similar.
