Took a ride in the new Cayenne today!

Hello everyone in the Cayenne section, you probably don't know me since I am usually in the NW section. I am 15 years old and love cars. Today I got the joy of getting to ride in the new Cayenne turbo. My mom is very interested in this car, and when I found out it was at my local Porsche dealer, I just had to check it out. If the pics fail to upload, it was Basalt black with a Luxor Beige interior.

First off, the looks. Well, after seeing a few pictures online, I was skeptical about the way it looked from the back, but after seeing it in person I absolutely love every square inch of it. The car definitely looks better in person! The interior is just a nice place to be. The seats are comfortable, the ride is flawless, and the quality is second to none. I have always loved the way the interior of the Cayenne looked, but now that they have used much of the same design as the Panamera, it looks even better! The touch screen is crystal clear and easy to use. Compared to my moms Denali, there is no comparison. Everything is crisp and smooth, with no wait time after a button is pushed. The navigation next to the tachometer is also perfect, along with being useful when the radio is in use. Most of the buttons for the lock and the heated seats are just the same as the Panamera, which makes you feel like you are riding in a Panamera (which is a good thing).

Second, the ride is amazing. I like to put it as "riding on a cloud" . All bumps and dips are smooth as normal pavement. Going over railroad tracks is a non-event. Accelerating, decelerating, and cornering are all very smooth. And although I was not driving, it felt very secure at higher cornering speeds.

Third, the sound. I had not ridden in a Cayenne since we test drove the 1st generation. And having not heard what they sound like for a while, I was very impressed. It was very quiet at low speeds/rpm's, but when you get on it, it has a nice growl that makes you smile. Although I couldn't stop thinking what it would sound like with some secondary cat by-pass pipes .

Overall, the car was extremely comfortable, good looking and great sounding. I feel like it is the best compact SUV on the market today, and will not forget this experience for a long time!

George jr.

Hope these photos work, if so, thanks to Jason!

Great write-up. Did you check out the Burmester stereo? From that interior shot it looks like the car was so equipped.

I am not sure weather it was equipped or not. I did not get a chance to hear it ether way, but from what I hear it is fantastic!

How can one tell that it's Burmeister equipped from that photo?

Look at the passenger door, the speaker grill has a chrome surround, which is not present on the Bose. If you use the 3D configurator, it will add the chrome trim when you select the Burmester. Same on the Panamera.
