04 Turbo vs 11 S

I have an 04 Turbo and was wondering if an 11 S would be just as fast. I have a 2010 911 Turbo so maybe I don't need that extra speed. My 04 is fast enough for me for my daily drive besides the serious lag between stepping on the gas and actually getting going.

Anyone know what Porsche lists for the 0 to 60 time on the 04? I don't have my manual anymore and I looked online but found ranged from 5.3-5.9

Maybe the mid range torque isnt is good either? Anyone know?

Have you test driven an 11 S yet? I'd be curious as well, my o4 CTT has all bolt on mods and sprintbooster for the throttle lag and I couldn't be happier with its performance as a dd i'll have to try some 0-60's and check the times

I haven't driven an 11. I stay away from dealerships unless I am 90% ready to buy

Sprintbooster sounds interesting.

Brentis is infamous around these parts
I saw an 11 today. I have mixed opinions about them. Part of me thinks they look more busy like a streamlined Subaru forester, other part likes them. I heard the inside is bigger, but outside looks smaller, like a lexus rx350.

Do you like the sprintbooster? Not that any add-on is really worth it -but is it?

I was impressed with the throttle lag; completely gone, good tune, bypass cats, intake plenum are worth it to me, big difference, intake piping mainly for the sound, I haven't test drove the new S but after having the turbo I couldn't ever go back, but that just me and how I roll...

Well there is a great factual bases comparison of the two.

If the question was about performance and boredom then molding the turbo would be the better, cheaper, faster answer

0-60 wont be as fast, but the interior etc is a nice upgrade. Also having the newest body style.

Curious. Does an 11 S have more luxury interior features than an older Turbo?

I think most of the options are available, but after the complete redesign, the '11 Cayennes have a Panamera-esque interior which, in person, is quite stunning. It's highly functional and looks absolutely killer.

The PCM is also 2 generations or so ahead of the '04.

On the 2011, the rear wheel arches do not bite into the entry exit out of the rear doors as much.

Rear seats in the 2011 can also move back an forward. There may be a slight recline function as well that was unavailable on the previous generation.

Driving a '10 GTS and a '11 S back to back, the '11 definitely felt roomier up front and in back. The new regular seats and sports seats are amazing.

All in all, the perfect car for me would be the '10 GTS exterior with a '11 Cayenne interior. But in this world, I'm still torn between the discounts offered on the old generation and the, in my opinion, less than ideal touraeg-esque looks of the new Cayenne.

While I'm sure the new Cayenne will make the other one look outdated in a bit, the old one just looks right to me.

One thing I have been told is that the '11 S will out-accelerate the '10 GTS all while achieving better gas mileage. While I cannot attest to the facts behind that, the sportiest suspension on the new '11 definitely felt grippier and more well-planted compared to the sportiest GTS suspension setting.

The sound of the GTS exhaust is intoxicating while all of the new Cayennes sound kinda subdued in stock form. This is nothing an aftermarket exhaust, when available, won't be able to fix in short order.

What would be interesting to me would be a '11+ Cayenne GTS with truly unique (not Turbo) bodywork and ride height adjustments....one can always dream....

Hope that helps.

i would hope the 11 S could out run a 10 GTS, same motor in the lighter S. I wouldn't expect it to be much faster but maybe a 10th or two.
