Can PCM module from 08 be retrofitted to an 04 ?
Hi,
My 04 has the CD nav PCM with no telephone button. I would like to know if all PCM module (from 04-09) can be retrofitted without problems to any years cayenne ? Let say, would it be possible to install a DVD pcm from a 08 cayenne right into my 04 cayenne ... without changing wires etc... ?
Thanks

Yes it is possible. I just completed the change in my 04 with a 2.1 PCM out of an 06. Your 04 will also need the DVD drive that mounts below the passenger seat. One hold up for me was locating a plug for the back of the DVD that provides power. I ended up getting a harness designed to add sat radio and used that to provide power and optical to the DVD player. You will also need a short extension to the antenna to re-route it from the PCM to the DVD Drive. The upgrade is not cheap, but is possible. Many have opted to go for an aftermarket unit. I just wanted to keep the factory look.
Hmm, interesting.
I wondered if it would work. Looks like it would cost nearly as much as an aftermarket system.
I retrofitted a RSN-e nav from an 04 ish euro Audi into my 2000 U.S. Audi S4 and loved the factory look.
