Should be priced in the upper 30's, very good in snow and plenty of fun. save a little $$$$, then go for the real fun stuff!!

I didn't even have a car during dental school...didn't need one in NYC. I drove an Acura CL Type S for five years after that. Then a CTS-V. Now a Cayenne Turbo. I've been out of school for 10 years now and I WILL have a 911TT by next spring.

The biggest problem with dentistry is that you usually have to buy your own office. I had to get a loan for $1.2M when I bought my practice. That income comes in but goes right back to the banks. Definitely delays the purchase of some fun toys.

buy a used ctt with these two things done, coolent pipes replaced with metal ones and the drive shaft joint replaced, besides those two known things the air ride air pump can be re ringed for 150 bucks in parts and 30 minutes labor.

then you will have an amazing 100K$+ car that is rock solid and indestructable, for
lower cost than any any comprable car at any price. mine is an 04
and have had it for two summers and a winter and realized in the dead of winter the fact,
i will always have a cayenne turbo. there is no substitute.

Wait I have you all beat......."when I was in med school I would have to walk 10 miles in the snow and read my books under candle light," A quote from my father which is actually true.

Actually when I was in medschool I had to drive my family's toyota Sienna minivan for 3 years so I could get a BMW, which I finally paid off. After hearing the struggles of my parents in residency and fellowship I definitely feel very privileged. Luckily residency and fellowship pays a lot better then it did back then. And if your single and don't blow all your money on booze and expensive vacations then you can sometimes afford a nice toy here or there.

A couple of friends are in fellowship or have completed fellowships in various fields and are looking into purchasing or are currently driving a Carrera, Turbo S, E63, and M5. I wish I was in their seats!

BTW an S4 would be nice but don't know if it would clear more than 5" of heavy snow.

Wow thats a lot cash for a dental practice, i rent my 6000sft building and spent 300k to start mine. I've always found it better to rent medical offices, easier to pack and move if the area dies.

The $1.2M was to purchase an existing practice plus the 1700 sq feet portion of the building. I also borrowed a little extra to throw in digital xrays/pano, 10 computers and a few new chairs. Six months to go on the real estate and 2.5 years on the practice loan. Then I'm home free baby!

if i were you i'll go for the 08 GTS. i have one it's the best daily drive car i've ever had. plus it has very good off-road abilities. believe me i tested it for more than 3 years on yearly 1000km sahara trip. X3 is a joke

have fun with the GTS then resell it once you are back. and get th 2012 turbo. and good luck in your choice
