Got an '06 CS - have Q's re: tires, idle, oil and more!

Hi everyone!

So I just got a 2006 Cayenne S with 58k! super excited as I love the car and have never owned a Porsche (BMWs till now).

So... I have a few questions.

1. Tires - Right now there are some Michelins 275/45R19 - not sure which kind, but they need to be replaced pretty soon! I live in Los Angeles, and my driving involves lots of hills : ) in sunny warm/dry weather.

What are the best tires to get? Want to spend around 1K for the set - and want them to last as long as possible and of course have a quiet ride...

2. Idle - what's normal idle time? It seems like with the AC slightly on, it sits around 600.. and feels a tad bit jerky, as if it should be maybe at 800... if its low, what typically caused this? is it as simple as getting a mechanic to adjust it?

3. Oil changes - I'm not a DIY guy - so I wanted to gauge how often, and where... and of course what kind of oil. Trying to avoid walking in and getting ripped off without knowing anything.

4. Speaker - I have a bose system and it seems like the drivers side larger speaker is blown... any idea on where to get one? or what kind it is?

5. Overall - anything to look for? I checked the dealer where the previous owner had the car under lease, looks all good, regular service... had the water pump replaced... nothing else really major... I believe service was done at 45K? does that sound right? when is the next one? I'm slightly on a budget, so but I want the car to last, so any advice of what I should look out for would be much appreciated!

6. Nav - does it have a 3D map view or only overhead? how do I get it to go to where I currently am? I know I need to RTFM but just asking : )

Thanks!

08 ctt here. change the oil every 10,000 miles with stright 40w (or once a year <10,000) . The dealer charges abt $200.

should need a 60,000.

Thumbs up

Tires - Save your money. Get a good set of Conti's or Hankooks. Check TireRack. com.

Oil - I would change it every 5k, 10 at the most. DIY is easy. The hardest part is gettin the darn panels off. Any Synthetic 40 is fine. I usually go with 5w or 10w.

I forgot your other Q's....

Enjoy!

The idle in my 06 Cayenne S was always a little "lumpy" after 2 years I had a bad coilpak replaced and it was much better
