08 GTS - Ipod options?

I just picked up a used 08 GTS and I'm trying to weigh options for Ipod connectivity. I've searched this site, and I think I already know the answer to this, but is the my only option to go aftermarket with either NavTV, denison, etc? I'm looking for a hardwired non-modulated connection, but I am also apprehensive about going aftermarket.

I currently have the NavTV unit in my 08 911 turbo and the unit has worked flawlessly, however I do not like its quirky menu navigation. More specifically the huge pain in the *** that is involved with scrolling to artists farther down the alphabet. Simply annoying, distracting and dangerous.

So.... having an 08 GTS, PCM 2.1 and bose. Do I have any other options? Is there really no simple option of just having the Ipod connected to an AUX-in? I woudnt mind controlling the ipod fROM the ipod. Any thoughts, suggestions?

How is the ipod navigation through the head unit? Does it take forever to scroll through artists farther down the alphabet?

Can you use the Mobridge's AUX-in to connect the Ipod and control directly from the ipod? Or are you forced to navigate through the vehicles head unit?

My biggest gripe with NavTV is the navigation and lenght of time it takes to to scroll. I really want to avoid this.

I like the Dension because it is the best for the $$$ and it works. You have the option to retain the use of the CD changer, you get RCA aux in as well as a USB input, navigation is quite simple, and you have the option to control the ipod either thru the PCM or on the ipod itself. And if you have phone buttons on the PCM, you also get the option to integrate bluetooth by adding another module.
