I also have 555's on my 22's I run in the summer. They are indeed loud, but do tone down after a few thousand miles. Not a bad tire for the price though...

OK just posting this so you guys can avoid my pain. I recently bought 22's and had Nitto 285-35-22's put on them. As soon as i left the tire shop i got a humming sound between 35-45 mph and at 70+ mph it was like i was driving on the warning strip on the side of the road.

When i called the tire shop thought it was a balancing issue so i went to another shop to have them road force balanced. They decided that two tires were bad and the tire shop ordered me new ones. Four days later the new tires came in and i had them put on and the noise was still there. We then thought it was a bent rim since the noise went away after 45mph and came back at 70+mph so i was off to have the rims checked.

So i made an appointment with a wheel shop to have the wheels looked at. Five days later i go to the wheel shop appointment and the wheels are not bent or off at all. I call the tire shop and they want me to try a different brand of tire. I had them get perelli tires but they had to order them.

Three days later i get the call that the new tires are in so i bring the CTT down to the shop. I just got back from the shop and guess what? It rides as smooth as glass and no noise at all.

Im posting this so you guys don't make the same mistake with Nitto tires that i made.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I am getting 285/35 Pirellis
