hedge-fund traders? or where to start?
I am interested in becoming a trader. Are there forums? what suggestions can you guys make.

Do you have experience in Equity or Fixed-Income trading? Do you have a degree in Finance or MBA from an Ivy league school? Do you have a close relative working in the business? Do you have a ton of cash? These are the important questions.

No hedgefund will hire you unless you have an Ivy degree/lots of experience or one of your relatives works there.
You could start off as a leveraged daytrader but you'll need a few licenses before you can start. Shouldn't take you more than a month or two to study for. If you don't need the leverage,ie. you're loaded, than you can simply open up an account at an online brokerage or DVP account at an institutional brokerage and trade as much as you want. Sounds easy, doesn't it? LOL

 

damn. that does sound really complicated.
but i would like to learn more about it. I guess i could start off with leveraged daytrader... bummer.

i am **** out of luck. Perhaps I can tell my brother to consider this as he will be getting his MBA done in two months and looking for a job.
