We Auto-x ours this summer as well. I wish we had your track size. We were running 50 second times compared to your 1.30 minutes of fun.

I found turbo lag really annoying (as I do on the street). It seemed I would get lined and then boost would kick in and push me wide a number of times. I kept PCM on for safey as we had light posts and a very tight course. I keep wondering about the Sprint Booster.

I really wish we had the newer models with active swapbars as well as the thing feels like it will roll sometimes. I think tire pressure could help here and will play with it more next year. Side note have you see the guys drifting the new cayennes? Super flat rides.

Thanks for sharing.

We get about 45 to 60 seconds here.

I thought about the Sprint Booster but I really like the articulation and subtle modulation of my stock setup. I think Porsche engineers got this SUV right. I'd hate to give up the driveability it now has for full on not talways useful performance.

Hell, the turbos in the winter make for a wild ride.

Most of the local SCCA courses are 45-60 second range. This PCA course was LONG and tight. Also not at a normal venue.

The SCCA won't let me run the CTT. If you want an entertaining thread to read go here.

I use a GoPro Hero HD. It was just stuck to the windshield below the mirror with one of their stock stick on mounts.

Check it out on my skis. Fun little camera.

What do you set your tire pressure and load settings at for autocrossing?

I think setting Full Load in the PCM (even though the car is as empty as I can get it) and putting in at least 40 psi front and 50 psi rear is necessary.

I turn the PSM off and set the ACC to Econo mode just to prevent HP robbing.

I had the tires at 42 PSI. I also had the info screen set to display my tire pressure so I could see what the autocross course was doing to my tire temp/pressure. They only went up about 1 PSI on 3 tires. On this course the left rear was not getting as much work as the other 3.

I did not change the "load" setting in the PCM. My impression of that setting is that it only has to do with the warning chime for the TPMS and how it calculates your tire pressure.

My Climate Control was totally off. Sport shock setting, lowest driving level, rear seat folded down with headrests left at home.

FWIW there is a "Porsche" thread over on AdvRider.com that is pretty funny. Filled with a bunch of Cayenne hating air cooled only lovers. They are all bent out of shape that anyone would think the Cayenne is a "sports car" or "Porsche" of any form. (Even though I beat 27 of 49 cars at a Porsche Autocross

Nice driving! Love it when people take their Cayennes on the track/auto-x. I was at Poconos about two years ago. My friend bought his CS and did some very impressive driving. I was surprised at how well it handled in the turns. Thanks for sharing!
