21" on '11 Cayenne S w/o Air Suspension

Hi...

Does anyone have 21" wheels on their Cayenne S without Air Suspension? I'm curious how much it changes the ride. I'm thinking about getting either the RS Spyders 20" or the Sport Edition 21".

I'm currently running 19" with Pirelli Snow & Ice and looking to get some sportier wheels when Spring rolls around.

Also, on my CS, I noticed there is no 21" tire setting in the Tire Pressure Monitor menu. Is it because Porsche doesn't recommend 21" on a non-air suspension CS?

Thanks!

I had a loaner v6 cayenne yesterday with the regular tires and it rode bumpier than my turbo with 21" and air suspension. I can only assume it will be a bumpy ride with the 21". Also if you don't have the fender flares, the tires will stick out about an inch.

2011CS without air suspension...I had 18" Cayenne II wheels for about 1200 miles and switched to 21" Cayenne Sports, and have put 2k on those. Can't say that I have noticed any significant differences that I feel could be attributed to the larger wheels.

Hi Dave:

In your tire pressure settings, do you have a setting for 21" wheels? In my S, I only have settings up to 20" wheels.

I'm just wondering, but I don't think it really makes a difference since the pressures are pretty much the same.

Thanks!

Chris

Wow! That is surprising. I really would have thought that going up 3" in wheel diameter on a non-air suspension would have killed ride quality. I went from 19" with 275/45 tires and non-air on my '06S to 21" with 295/35 and air on my '09 GTS. Ride quality with air despite the larger wheels was smoother.
