HOLD on Hills Feature on '11 CS

I live in downtown Seattle where we have a fair number of hills, so I'm always engaging the Hill Hold feature. I've had this feature in other cars (BMW E60 M5 and E92 M3), but the Porsche is really intrusive.

I ran into a situation yesterday where the car wouldn't release the brakes. I would apply the throttle gently and the engine just kept fighting the brakes. I would have to get on the brakes again and give it a lot of throttle to release.

Another thing I noticed is that when coming to a stop on a hill, on the last foot before stopping, the car slams on the brakes for you when engaging the HOLD feature.

Seems like Porsche needs to fine tune their programming of this feature...

Anyone notice this also? I hope its not only my car...

I had an '11 CS loaner for a little over a week, Never had an issue with the Hill hold feature, it worked perfectly on mine, and It got put through its paces!!

Sounds like your car might have an issue....

Never had an issue with my 2008 GTS that had this, and 2011 hasn't arrived yet.

Sounds like am issue you should take into the dealer for. Not normal.

I've had it on a number of my recent cars and this is the most intrusive system. I was reading today and I think the difference with this system is that it holds the brakes on all 4 wheels. Not only the rear parking brakes.

It's only on really steep hills is it really indecisive. It's as if the car is not sure if it wants to release the brakes.
