I'm in the SoCal area, and i got around 2% off my base cayenne (i put in a custom order in Feb). Most dealers wanted MSRP and of the few dealerships i went to they didn't even have any base cayennes on the lot for sale (rusnak porsche in pasadena didn't have a single one to even look at, base, s, or turbo).

the dealer was offering 3%+ for a S though. From what I've been hearing, and seeing when i visited the dealers, is that allocations are tight, and these cars (especially the base cayenne) can't be found on the lot regardless what dealership you go to in this area. so i believe them when they say that they have no incentive to sell for much less than MSRP since someones going to pick up the car anyways, and it's not like they get to order as many cayennes as they want due to allocation.

good luck! and let us know how it turns out
I must have visited 5 dealerships and called another 5 back in 2003 trying to get a decent price on the M3. Almost all of them wanted OVER MSRP for the car since they were flying off the lots (not too dissimilar to the Cayenne). I wanted to custom order one so that made it even more difficult. Finally find a dealer that would let me custom order at MSRP and give me one of the first 2004 allocations. I also connected with a bunch of guys on the M3 forums and most in SoCal were paying over MSRP and a few were paying MSRP. At that point I figured if I wanted the car I would have to pay sticker for it. I got them to throw in free M3 floor mats, trunk mat, and an M3 key chain it was better than nothing.

I went to Rusnak as well only 1 S on the lot (damaged) and nothing else.

I'll let everyone know what I end up doing meeting with a couple of dealers this weekend...

Are you sure they raised the price? I just ordered one a couple weeks back and the base was still 47,700. Was th edealer just adding the tiptronic option on? The website also still says $47,700.
That said you can find some deals...

The price did increase on the V6 from $46,700 to $47,700 sometime in Dec, IIRC... def. not by $3,500.

Deals?

I guess a lot has changed in a month but when I was shopping I was able to get more than 1 offer on a V6 at 4% pluss off of MSRP. I did call around a lot and made it clear I was ready to put a deposit down ASAP and would wait for it to be built as well. There were no cars available.

Geography matters as with anything. In SoCal many vehicles get marked up because they can. When the GT-R first came out the markup on those things were crazy in SoCal bringing it close to the price of a 911 Turbo.

My local dealer here in Aus told me they are not allowed to order cars as stock if there is a backlog of orders awaiting to be built, all orders must be for customers only or demo models, he said Porsche is very strict with this policy. Our dealer is Porsche factory owned so I don't if the franchise dealers play a few games with this or not???

1st time Porsche owner now!

Out of 6 dealers near by that I called, three said MSRP and two were willing to waive their documentary fee. I feel so lucky finding a place tonight offering 4% off new build v6 Tip that is. Don't give up and keep calling =D

We cannot buy a Jap suv for the money you guys are getting your Cayennes for

The V6 model does not sell well here ( my dealer said he has sold one) most go the diesel as it goes harder and better on fuel or they shell out an extra 40 k for the S
Where the hell does all the extra payment go to?

You guys do have some decent neat Aussie rides we never see......I assume its cost prohibitive to keep your brethren afloat?

Hilux, cant get it in USA.....um, some of those other "el camino" style 400 hp aussie car truck rides....subaru outback not a crowd pleaser there?

Fosters or VB?

We seem to get heavily taxed on imported vehicles and any vehicle over 55K attracts a further luxury tax as well so we really get belted, I assume that also us having right hand drive might push the price up as well???

I have a Hilux as my offroad touring vehicle and they are a great vehicle I understand from the USA forums that they are preferable to the Tacos if you could get them. Subaru Outbacks are sold here and reasonably popular but probably lose out on price to the Mazda and Nissan variants. Toyota Prados and Landcruisers are much more popular (not sure what they call them over there)
And yes we do have some nice Aussie V8 utes ( or pickups) and sedans over here

Fosters is rarely drank over here though we do like our VB or XXXX

In NorCal, there are very few cayennes in stock. I am interested in the S and there are selling at MSRP. With gas prices going up, I thought that it would be the opposite.

I think the people in the market for a $70k+ car probably don't care that much that gas has gone up $0.50.

At least it's not a factor in my decision when buying a car

CTT price

So. Cal dealers are only discounting 3-5% for a custom ordered CTT. at least this is what my old dealer told me. since I moved to the mid west i was able to find a dealer offering 8% off for the new CTT.

that's unheard of, and I would find it hard to believe the out the door pricing is what you just mentioned, ESPECIALLY on a CTT which sell for STICKER without question.
Why would a dealer mark those down when there are plenty of people not haggling. The CTT is the most limited and highest priced Cayenne. Hard to find any decreases in pricing on those from my experience.
Maybe a couple of grand, maybe even 3-5% if you're lucky, but 8%:ee k:

CTT price

yeah i was surprised too. my local porsche dealer was only offering $800-1200 off for a new CTT. my old dealer in LA was offering 3%. I contacted about 11 dealers before ordering and many were in the 4-6% range (6% for heavily optioned). i guess dealer offering 8% because they sell a lot of cars?
