I think in some states you ahve to pay taxes on the full lease but may not have to pay additional taxes on the buyout. So essentially you buyout the car from Porsche, Porsche rebuys it from you as a trade-in.

In california you pay taxes on each lease payment, so there's nothing to "get back"
