04 CTT with 155k km, should i buy it?
found one, local car
good condition, smooth acceleration coolant pipe replaced, but almost 100k miles is really high to me. i am not too worried about the gas btw since there are other cars in family. should i buy it? or get some newer ones. i really like the car though. any input is greatly appreciated here. |
How long do you plan to keep? How many miles will you drive per year? What is the cost?

$28k seems high for 100k mile truck.
If you keep a car that long and only put 10k miles a year I think you would be better off with a lower mileage truck. If you buy that truck for 28k and keep for 5 years and then sell with 150k miles, how much will it sell for, 16k??? Vs Buy one with 50-60k miles, for $33-35k. Sell 5 years later with 100 k miles for $22-25k. Anyway, I am not sure if my numbers are very accurate, but I would go with lower miles. Less maintenance and it may be very hard to sell a truck with 150k miles. |

I am thinking on Selling mine for 31K Black-Black, 2004 TT 53,000 miles with every option , car is pristine and in excellent shape. Full front Clear Bra , K40 , XM Radio , Ipod Cable.
Wheels are new and have no more than 200 miles |
Mine has a 110k and still going strong, so if you can get a good price.

I know this is a strange time to make a first post but I am sure this question is going to come up and I dont know if it can be answered without more info on the car. What do you all think is a good or fair price to pay for a car with that kind of mileage?

FWIW, I have seen a couple of 200K+ mile CTT out there on other forums.
If taken care of mileage should not really be that much of a concern. As for additional depreciation. I think the years are going to have a bigger effect than the miles at this point. Look at the 928 market for an example. There are 200K+ mile cars selling for the same relative ballpark as cars with half the miles. |

totally agree. i saw some less miled ones with lots of problem. as long as you take care of the car properly, it will serve you for a long time. |
150K Miles Strong!
Mine has 150K miles and running well. Just had the H2O pump changed for the first time. Coolant pipes changed including T connector. Driveshaft changed. Strong engine, been dealer maintained all its life except for the driveshaft and water pump. I would keep it till dies! It's safe to buy high mileage ONLY if the maintenance records are available!

I bought mine with 67k, now it has 92k. It was a one owner /full records find:) It was damn near perfect then as it is now. There is no difference in power or wear. There is no way I would sell for less than 29,000. Then again I have 21" PORSCHE GTS wheels and a stainless cat back exhaust. I plan on keeping it for many years. I dont think the mileage is an issue as far as quality/reliability is concerned. The Cayenne is a quality vehicle, not average or run-of-the-mill. You may see substantial savings on the right unit though, based on the fear of higher mileage:)
