Anyone else notice that when driving at higher speeds for an extend period of time, i.e. highway driving, the brake pedal becomes much stiffer/more sensitive? It also feels like the brakes are going to lock up. Thoughts?

They won't lock.
Just a safety precaution. Do you have ACC?

Mine with ACC, if I am following too close pre fills my brakes to that if I am following too close and have to quickly hit the brakes, not only will the car start to stop and apply brakes, immediately as I remove my foot from the brake, but it does this even before my foot gets to the depress the brake pedal.

 

I do not have ACC.
