PCM 2.1 Radio Stations

Is there a way to set up the 2.1 PCM such that the names of the radio stations make sense - such as having the frequency displayed or the call letters? In AM mode I do see the frequencies but in FM only some of them are there. Most stations that I have set show "L-5" or "L-3" or "L-something else" and some show some of the station's call letters. Is there a way to set stations so that they all show the frequency or the call letters? If not, is the "L-something" supposed to translate into something meaningful? I tried searching and reading the manual but haven't had any luck yet...

Good question! The explanation in the owner's manual is useless. I've also had some of the stations display the call letters for a little while, and then change to one of the strange designations like L-3. It doesn't make any sense at all.

Yeah - if this is the way it was designed it definitely deserves a "what were they thinking" label...

I'm just about ready to replace my PCM unit with an aftermarket headunit anyway. I've got a Kenwood DNX-6960 in my 996 and it's great. It has Garmin navigation, bluetooth, handsfree dialing, Sirius/XM, iPod connectivity, etc. It would be a nice upgrade to the Cayenne.

Sounds interesting - looking forward to seeing the pics once it's installed. For me, I'd like to keep my Cayenne OEM and understanding the PCM would no doubt bump up my enjoyment level a bit...
