I just had the front and rear brakes on my CTT replaced and the new brakes are squeaking so loud it is embarrassing. I have tried going heavy on the brakes to seat them properly and also light pressure but the squeal is not going away. Do you think they were installed incorrectly?

Besides applying shim grease, there isn't much opportunity for a misinstallation to create squeaking. If you replaced the both the pads and rotors, you have consider that PSM pre-pressurizes your brakes for you in the case of an emergency panic stop. That means that your pads might in the contact with your rotors even when not stopping.

I would give it a few weeks, then think about switch pad compounds if it bothers you that much. I personally would rather have brakes that work well and squeak, then lousy spongy brakes that are quiet.

Brakes that work, will squeal. If you want to increase your braking distance, get cheaper worse pads that don't squeal, and don't stop as quickly, or as efficiently, or as repeatable. You WILL give up at least one or more of those.

Easy.

If you like to stop quickly, leave the OEM pads alone.

If you want the squeal to go away - brake hard (preferably not while there are children not buckled or groceries that can go flying). It only takes a few heat cycles to resolve.

This is normal folks. The salesman was right (please don't quote me saying that). It's physics.

I have an 09 GTS as well, when I first got it (in 2011) it had squeaky brakes as well, just as you described, squeaks at 3-5 mph when slowing down.

I replaced all pads & rotors last year (suncoast parts) and have not had any squeaking since. I stuck with the OEM rotors & pads as well.

I have an 08 CTT which I purchased as a CPO. Breaks have squeaked since day one (at low speeds only). It will go away for a short time after a good wash.
