04 cayenne s - easy entry

First of i have an 04 cayenne s with memory seats and button on the steering column to allow the seat to move back a little and the steering wheel to move in so it is easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

The easy access feature has always worked perfect. until yesterday. i was in the car and put my seat all the way back so i was laying down. (the vehicle was turned off at this point and in rest mode so i could have heat and the radio turned on) i put the seat back up to my normal position (memory 1) and turned the car on and drove away. then when i turned the car off and pulled the key out and opened the door the seat went reclined all the way back. i dont know why.

now it does this all the time and i dont know how to re set it back to the way it was before when the seat only slid back an inch or two.

im very frustrated. can anyone help.

you most likely grabbed the side of the seat and reset position 1 accidently

i happen to fix it using instructions to a toureg. held down the lock button and held the set button while sitting in the car. with the easy access button out. hit set where i wanted the easy access position to be and moves the seat to position 1 pushed the easy access button back in. turned the car on. turned it off. then opened the door and voilla. it worked.

Glad you got this worked out. Would you mind elaborating a bit on how you did the reset? I.e. you held down which lock button and which set button? Any chance you could post the explicit directions? Thanks!
