Resale Value of PCM 2.1

Hi,
I was thinking of getting a kenwood or Pioneer unit for my 08 Cayenne. I currently have a PCM 2.1 with Nav (not bose) and CD Changer. I was wondering if people have sold a PCM before? Is it worth anything used? I was hoping I could use the money toward the new unit. Thanks.

I've seen them listed on eBay too but can't for the life of me figure out who would buy these at this kind of price.

Pretty sure the only car on earth it fits in is the Cayenne. They don't have a history of complete failure so I can't imagine too many people spending that kind of money that are not upgrading to something else.

EDIT: I just checked the completed listings and none of them have sold.

I can't imagine why they are listed for so much...

I'm considering replacing my PCM 2.0 with a Kenwood double-DIN unit like I have in my C4S. It's a nice upgrade.

i'm in the same boat as you guys - been hovering and sitting on the fence on this but now planning on getting the new pioneer avic 140bt when it ships. will be putting the pcm2.1, dvd nav, tooki bluetooth and iPod connector on the market. I was originally thinking about holding on to it all for the potential next buyer in case he/she is an oem nut but have resolved to just clear out the gear at whatever the market is offering. Now just waiting for Pioneer to ship their new h/w

mine (with bose and optical output) srewed up a while ago when the starter failed. one of the surface mount capacitor got blew off and i suspect something else was tosted. so now i am without music for a while.
is there any replacement if i have the bose and navi version of the pcm?

What will you guys do about all the functionality related to on board info such as tire replacement reset? I'm guessing an aftermarket unit will probably affect some functionality on the info screen between the speedo and the tach as well - guessing it's connected in with the PCM too given you can display nav guidance there.
