Ok so I listened to what everyone said, put the car in neutral, pulled up on the shifter **** and it came off. Tried to put it back on and now the car won't shif out of neutral. Did I break the button on the **** somehow?

If so, any options to fix it or do I have to buy a new ****? (I was going to buy the carbon fiber one anyway ) I just hope I didn't damage my gearshifter selector.

 

Doubt you broke it. Sometimes it's a bit tricky to get back on correctly such that the button hooks back up correctly. I forget exactly what I did but take it off again and look at what the button does when you press it in. I think (but don't hold me to it) you have to hold the button pressed in when you reattach it. Play around with it a bit and I'm sure you'll get it hooked up and working correctly again. Good luck!
