Don't wait to get mugged by your rear hatch or hatch glass. Replace weak struts as a set, and keep your rear hatch out of your hair when you load cargo and groceries. Gas-filled lift struts leak pressure over time and weaken. Older struts that work in warm weather, may let the hatch or glass glass drop unexpectedly in cold weather, especially when they're carrying the added weight of snow and ice.
