Porsche OEM versus Toureg Wiper Blades
For two-three years I have been running VW Toureg wiper blades. One service rep when replacing the chuck that covers the blades and locks them in (I don't know a better name for those tiny parts.) said that the chuck covers were not fitting all that well because I had Toureg rather than Porsche wiper blades. When I had a new Guardian W/S installed I bought new wiper blades but never realized my mechanic was selling me VW parts rather than Porsche OEM.
Recently, I ordered Porsche OEM wiper blades. After getting the new glass, I put them on. And I find that the Porsche blades are superior in that they clear approximately one more inch of windshield on each far edge of the windshield. They also seem to seat more evenly against the glass, but that could be just because they are new.
Lesson learned: Stick with Porsche OEM at least for front W/S wiper blades.
