CEL and service in 3000 miles warning

CEL and service in 3000 miles warning
The CEL just came on (and stays on) and it seems like a warning to service in 3000 miles came on at the same time. Could it be related? (I know I need to get a durametric but I'm researching the cheaper (knockoff) options right now).
The car is a 2004 Cayenne S with right over 157k miles.
Anyone know what kind of service it needs at 160k miles? I have all the manuals so if it's in there I can just look it up later.

They are not related at all. The only way to reset the service now is with a PWIS or Durametric. As for the check engine light if its not flashing it is a soft code and likely emissions related. If its flashing I would not continue to operate the vehicle.
