Motodyne Supercharger for GTS/S

Hi All,

Has anyone ever spoken to Motodyne about thier supercharger for the 4.8 GTS/S? I've heard of Motdyne before but have experience with Audi 4.2's & VF. The kit claims that an upgrade to a 82mm throttle body is required but other than that it is complete. No pricing on the website though but I will call and find out tomorrow.

Given the compression ratio of the 4.8 a supercharger may be a bucket full o' grief but I am interested. It seems that VF a PES are reluctant or there isn't enough interest to build a S/C for the NA Cayennes.

Seems like the difference in price between a used Turbo and a GTS/S of similar year would be less than the price of a supercharger kit. With more potential and better reliability.

Very true Cole. I believe the kit is likely around $10-$15K but we shall see. I've put superchargers on a couple of Audi's (A6-4.2 & S4-4.2). One was PES and the other VF.
I do believe that the GTS would really come into it's own with an extra ~100 HP and XXX TQ. The thing I like about SC vs. TC is the across the bandwidth power, especially in the lower range. Couple that with a 6 speed / upgraded clutch / exhaust and I think the GTS would be an absolute weapon considering how well they handle already. However, the two T/C cars I've had were amazing with larger T/C's, larger fuel rails injectors, exhaust etc. were greased lighting since the spool was set to start at 4 psi @ idle and then ramped to 26-29lbs. In a Passat that is rediculous, believe me!

Anyway, it's all pie in the sky until I can find out about the pricing. An extra $10Kfor the "additional" mods required to hold it all together.

Rob from Motodyne has quoted me $8,995.00 for a stage two set up. Stage 2 includes the plenum mounted S/C, throttle body (82mm), ECU tune plus all applicabel "pieces and parts".

I ahve asked for a dyno chart as well as any previous install referrals.

Hi Tom, i took your advice and am glad I did.. That was a very close call as the Minister of Finance (wife) gave me the green light to purchase. From reading all of the posts I now vaguely recall this clowny pants, I just wasn't putting two + two together...
Back to the drawing board for me! If anyone can recommend a reputable manufacturer I am more than willing to put tan fun fur on the GTS and turn it into a Guinnea P!g... and of course i can assist somewhat on the R&D funding.

This is a really good community, appreciate the good advise all.

Cheers
