08 cayenne turbo issues
hey guys, im hoping someone here might know what is wrong with my (wifes) 2008 cayenne turbo. a few days ago, my wife called me saying that the car wouldn't accelerate after siting at a stop light. she would press the accelerator pedal, but nothing would happen (her words).
I took her car for a ride that night and noticed something weird happening. at low rpms and low speeds (under 30mph), the car would be FULL BOOSTING. this is at like 3k rpm. this scared the crap out of me. car seemed to also lack power and was accelerating hesitantly.
I shut the car off and restarted it and it seemed to go away, but then happened again not too much later.
the issue with the car losing power / shutting off after being stopped for more than 20-30 seconds is reoccurring.
I was hoping someone would recognize these symptoms and could give some insight, before I tow it up to the Porsche dealer.

Just guessing, but it sounds like a major air leak or popped boost hose. This is not normal, so I doubt you are going to find a direct answer on these boards. Your best bet is to look over it carefully yourself or take it to someone else who will.
If you have a Durametric, you should probably have some codes stored as well.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you got it resolved for not an arm and a leg. The crank and cam sensor are sensitive items and would definitely cause the issues you were experiencing. I think you would have most likely had a code stored in your DME as well.
well apparently the vehicle had a coolant leak at some point in its life. the coolant leak was repaired, but some of it had made its way into the sensor and over time fouled the sensor.
