You're right about the 956 comment... I have way too many cars to keep in my head, especially prior gen models.

I'm sure I would have had a positive review if my Tune worked as intended... instead my car hesitated in mid-rpm range with the Tune in Drive mode only. I was told by a Certified Porsche tech and an owner of an indi shop that the maps in the Tune are bad.

I do thank Scott for sending me my stock file back so that I could get rid of that buggy software and go back to stock. My car runs like a champ again.

I feel like I am defending my position on a post that does not belong to me so I will stop. I will write a comprehensive review of my experience with Softronic for everyone to see and keep in mind of what happens when Softronic Tune does not work as intended. Then I will welcome all Softronic fans to take jabs at me in my own post.

Good luck with your software decision. It is unfortunate that there are many things to consider other than advertisements and fan endorsements.

I should have gone the VR route...
Wow...You must be nuts to recommend Vivid for anything. Souinds like you had a bad experience with your Softronic tune...But me and a whole crap load of others have had it for a long while with no isues and great results.

Your one experiance does not make a trend. And funny you would recommend a VRT tune as they stole the Softronic tune and made a new logo for it

Oh well...Too bad about your experience. Not discounting what you may have felt your experience was like...But if you do a search here on 6speed, Softronic is the most popular tune by far.

And I can only speak for my personal Turbo....It is fast and the tune from Softronic made it a beast. Also, I (and many others) have always fond Scott/Softronic to be very helpful and responsive...and a genuinely decent guy.

Good luck getting something you are happy with...

From my experience, you have to be very careful with selecting your tuning software.

Some of the bigger name tunes do exactly what they advertise (HP/TQ) but they give it to you where you don't need it; up top.

I prefer power where I can actually use it (off the line and passing).

Bottom line is you want usable TQ for most street applications, so I wouldn't put all emphasis on HP alone. I had my car custom tuned and it absolutely hauls ***.

After datalogging, I'm seeing no issues with Injector Duty Cycle or intake charge temps on stock intercoolers.

The MAF is critical, I don't care how much you do to a car, it's the airflow that's allowed in that counts.

Good luck!

gh0stman is infamous around these parts
The tunes work nicely for Turbo'd engines, but the OP is wanting one for his CS. I dont see a point in paying $1000+ for 16hp and 23lb/ft. Now if there was a tune that gave similar gains to the NA folks that the Turbo folks get to use them I might jump on the wagon.

As I mentioned, I also installed Softronic on my '08 957 CS & received a nice 30 hp increase & I can definitely feel it off the line. I already had 2nd cat delete when I installed it.
But I'm not sure but don't think they have a tune available for non turbo 955's. I think it is mostly changes to the DFI mapping on the CS that makes most of the power. The 955's are pre-DFI.

All,

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, in the best interest of all parties involved, I will have to make a stronger stance. In that light, only facts corroborated with evidence will be allowed when discussing tuning options. Anything bordering on opinion, speculative, and/or unsubstantiated damaging statements will result in immediate thread closure in the Cayenne section.

Lets play nice.

Thanks
