S.S. front skid plate
S.S. front skid plate
Just received a stainless steel front skid plate for my 05 cayenne turbo. Anyone did this before can give me some pointers on how to remove stock piece or does it install over existing. Have removed all fastners I can see, even in wheelwell, stock part seems to all one piece from wheelwell to whellwell. Any help would be appreciated.

Depending on your skill level it will take about 2 hrs start to finish, mostly trying not to damage the paint work. You can take the front off by yourself but you will need a second pair of hands to put it back on, (my wife helped me)
It fits over the existing plastic cover, you need to make sure you have the Porsche small parts kit along with the plate itself.
Various torx / crosshead drivers and a drill are needed.
I used moving pads on the ground under the front of the car to save any bad bumps as it comes off.
Use the opportunity to 1) change fog light bulbs to white ones, 2) replace the hood badge, 3) change side markers to clear.
