2006 cayenne s brake issue.........
hi,
new member here. my indie mechanic is stumped with a brake issue. hope someone here can lend some advice. thanks in advance.
heres the problem......
installed authentic porsche factory new front rotors, pads, sensors, caliper bolts and springs. now, when i take my foot off the brake pedal, a clink/clunk metallic sound occurs. only occurs when pressure is taken off the brake pedal.
sounds like something is under tension and then snaps back making the sound i hear.
easily repeatable at low speed and even occurs after coming to complete stop and taking foot off brake pedal.
clink!

Im going to take a shot in the dark here and say the caliper pistons are whats making the noise. As for repair, I have no idea other than replacement. But I am sure it wont be pretty. Did you INDY put copper grease on the back of the pads?
