Hello,

I have driving my Cayenne in a while and today when I took it out, the engine light turn on. I used my durametric to scan for the code and it come up with "2181 -Cooling system performance - Implausible signal"

I checked the coolant and its not empty but nearly full. Should I check somewhere else for the issue?

mine is throwing the same code. I reset it every two days or so and its back. Did u get any resolution on it?

 

Normally means thermostat failure. The ECU expects the engine to reach a certain temperature after a certain time, if it doesn't it may throw this code. Have a look at your temp gauge and check if the engine is taking longer to reach normal operating temp.
I have just changed mine recently.

 

Thanks very much for the reply. Took it in this morning and it is the thermostat! Will be replaced under my extended warranty along with lower control arms. Thanks!
