Trailer Hitch wiring

This is probably a really dumb question, but I have recently purchased a 2008 Cayenne S. It has the factory trailer hitch installed. However, I cannot seem to locate any wiring for the trailer. Is this located somewhere not readily visible, or was the trailer wiring a separate option not included with the factory hitch?

Thanks,
Terry Watson

The wiring should be there, tucked away in the trunk storage on the right. You may need to do to a dealership to get it plugged in properly.

Is there a plug holder with blank plate next to the hitch? It would be tucked up under the bumper. If so, you have to remove the plate and install a plug adapter.
See this thread for required parts. This was for my 2006, but I believe it should apply to a 2008.

If there is no connector blank plate & plug holder, I am not sure what your options are, I believe the factory tow package was complete except for the plug adapter (& a brake controller).
If this is not the case, I got nothing
Proceed as asp13 suggested.

You hit the nail on the head. There is a "box" mounted up under the rear bumper next to the hitch with a cover plate on it. I figured it had to be the trailer connection, but have to admit I expected Porsche to provide a plug and wiring although probably without the trailer end. Thanks for the link to the Rennlist thread!
