957 rear brake pads

Hi All, I’ve just fitted all new brake discs and pads on my 957 turbo but am having issues with the rears.
For the front I went for M-TEC grooved discs and EBC yellow stuff pads, other than needing to buy a new caliper the install was fine and the pads slotted into the callipers easily.
This has not been the case with the rears, on both sides I fully wound back the calliper so that the pistons were pushed right into the dust seals but when fitting the pads it was a real struggle to get the calliper over the new disc, I had to really force it on and guide it into location with a rubber hammer.
Putting a vernier gauge over the new discs they are a very similar thickness to the lip on the old discs that I removed, so I don’t think the discs are the issue here.
With everything assembled I’ve taken the car for a short drive to see whether this would allow everything to bed in, but that didn’t seem to work and the rear discs got quite hot.
So to me the only possible explanation here is that the pads I was sent are too thick for my car, but looking online they are supposed to be suitable for the 957 Turbo, the pads are made by Topran (German) and seem to have the correct part number on the box 95535293964.

I’m wondering whether anyone on here had had similar issues when fitting new pads?
Any comments/advice appreciated..

Thanks
