Cayenne 957 (2009) - Adding multifunction steering wheel buttons

Hello,
I have Cayenne 957 - 2009 and I have steering wheel without multifunction buttons.
When I purchase the buttons is it possible to just plug & play them? or the connector isn't there?
Thanks

I have been doing some investigation about this, for my Cayenne Turbo 955.

My steering wheel provides me with buttons to change gears, but no audio/media buttons.
Other Cayenne Turbo's, same year, same model, do have those multifunctional steering wheel buttons.

I found out it's just the airbag. The airbag contains the buttons, not the steering wheel.

The good news, we only need to buy a new or second hand airbag, with those buttons. And it will fit on the steering wheel.
The bad news,
-those airbags are quite expensive,
I believe in the range of 600euro's.
Second hand, they are not to be found, searched everywhere. Car graveyards, etc.
-Also, I heared it's risky business doing it yourselve.. Danger it will go off, when you change the airbag.
Danger for me, but also, you will loose the 600euro's you just invested in the bag ;-)
-Also, when I install it properly, there's the chance my new and expensive buttons will not work, because they need to be actived in the PCM.
If you don't have a Durametric yourselve, you will need to bring it to the dealer: He will charge you a good amount for it.

For me, too expensive, risque of a lot of effort, ending the story with not-working/not functional steering wheel buttons...

Hi did anyone ever do this retrofit, adding the buttons for telephone, audio etc to the steering wheel when the factory wheel did not have them, for 2008 Cayenne Turbo.
