Coolant overflow at idle or on long run 955 S 2006
Hey guys,
I have a questions if someone could point me in the right direction here.
got an 2006 Porsche Cayenne S 4.5
it did not overheat temperature are stable at 85-90 degrees.
I did the coolant pipe, thermostat seems to engage properly and not leaking from water pump at all.
when idling or on long run the coolant start overflowing from the tube and the cap of the overflow tank.
replace cap and overflow tank since i thought that was the culprit but nope still doing the same thing.
Only code I got is for Coolant Fan number one not operating is can cause my system to overflow from the expansion tank ????
also I have no oil in my coolant at all no leak from anywhere just over flowing when idling too long or on long drive it overflow from the tube from the expansion tank.
if someone point me in the right direction so I don’t start throwing parts all over the place.
thanks

If the reservoir has been filled past the max mark, you will get overflow until the level reaches its "new normal".
Regardless, you need to fix the cooling fan issue as it will lead to other issues.

Hope the Op doesn’t mind be hijackong/tagging on
ive just bought a 957 3.6 and replaced the coolant expansion tank as the sensor was bad and temp wasn’t rising on dash much.
new tank /cap and coolant done and still not recording proper temp while driving . When o ran it up in the garage it heated to halfway as expected , does it sound like jammed or missing thermostat ???
cheers
