Autospies :

Porsche to Cut Workweek at German Plant to 38 Hours, Focus Says

Source: Bloomberg-Porsche AG, the German sports-car maker, will reduce the workweek to 38 hours from 40 hours at its Leipzig plant in eastern Germany, the magazine Focus Money reported, without saying where it got the information.

The shorter workweek will begin in August in the plant where 300 employees make the Cayenne sports-utility vehicle, Focus said. Eastern German workers in IG Metall, Europe's biggest industrial union, have been striking since June 2 for a 35-hour week.

Porsche is negotiating a ``supplement to the contract'' governing work conditions with the union, the magazine said.

I think they're reducing the work week to comply with union regs. I don't think it was their desire to reduce the work week by two hours.

This may help a little. Although this info was
from May 22nd, 03.

Gossip is Gossip, but this website has proven
itself time and time again.

I love all these people hoping for the Cayenne to fail (I'm not refering to the posts here which are for informational purposes only). Frankly, I don't give two s**ts one way or the other. I love my TT and it is one of the best anything I have ever driven! I need an SUV for work and it allows me the pleasure of driving a Porsche everyday! I plan on having for at least 2 years (unless something better comes out) and at that point it will probably have 40k-50k miles. I have no idea what it will be worth (I don't think anybody does), but I figure it will depreciate heavily, probably 40%. I just plan on driving it and enjoying it!

I'm with you there ESK. I want to see the Cayenne
succeed! If written articles are anything to go by,
and if it's true that the general consensus about
the Cayenne's exterior styling is lukewarm at best,
I would have to say the majority of the american
public has "Bad Taste".

The public and the Press have loved the tasteless
"Brick-Styling" from Ford and Chevy for the past
decade, and yet complain about the Cayenne because
it looks like a Porsche!?! Then they completely throw
out it's abilities.

Style over substance in america. The regular consumer
needs educating.

I generally like Car & Driver, but who cares how heavy the vehicle is! The important thing is it's 0-60 in 5 seconds! Autoweek's writers had a split decision on the TT.
