Question please.guys..need your opinion 996tt or cayenne T

i know i am comaring with apple and orange..if you have time to read my situation.give me some of ur opinion...then i will say"thanks alot" to you

i will considering purchase 2 cars after 3 months total about $90kwhen i come back from my vacation..
first thought combo...
2004 Cayenne S+ something..then 2 cars will be 50/50 each cost about $45k.(maybe an used 996 again!)

then i thought about.
2004 Cayenne Turbo.about $65k 20kmiles.black or white.+$25k mini
(i may not take this combo becuase i dont need a SUV with that much SUV,and the look of S or T with no much different.)

i chosed Cayenne because i need to pickup parents twice a year with my gf from airport.(with 2 big luggage.).parents only stay here for less than 1month each year.so i think SUV will be better for a 4door.

today i am start thinking if i just need a suv a few times. be honest with you guys.i dont really like the look of almost any SUV.i never thought about buying a SUV.

my girlfriend and i both like the look of 996tt or such sports car.sure ..more attention...i dont drive crazy ..the loking drag me to TT.

2002 996tt 20k miles...yellow or white about $70k...+$20k with a used SUV such as RX300...or something else..

before i was just stuck with Cayenne S or T...now..just came up 996TT..i almost cant go back to cayenne...
all advice will be welcome......

i post 2 the same threads here and 996TT...dont know 6speed aloww me...

I would go with a used , but certified CPO with extended warranty, 996tt.
And then a used SUV.

Just going by what your situation dictates...and the fun you'll have in the 996.

But if it were me - I would go with a used Cayenne S and a used Boxster.
Both '04 for about 90K total.

Lots of fun with this combo for sure.

If you can 'get by' with a 996TT as a 'daily driver'; I would get a low mileage '02 or '03 (with warranty) for 80. Invest or save the other 10.

Rent an SUV or 4 door when your parents are in town.

Being a father of a 25 year myself, this is the advise I'd give my son and of course, I'd pay for the rentals.

I agree also. But, for $80,000 i much rather buy a brand spanking new Carrera 997S. Also, check the 997 forum cuz many people say that the Carrera S is just as good/better than the 996TT. Plus its a brand new car. And im sure you can even find a low mileage used one to save on the depreciation hit.

It depends on whether you want a sport car or a SUV for your daily driver.

If the preference is sport car, then I vote for 997 (or 997S) combine with a new Toyota FJ cruiser (an interesting looking SUV with base price around 21K)

If the preference is SUV, then a Cayenne S combine with a 993 or 996.

I've enclosed my toys. Please enjoy...

i think 996TT or 997 for a dailly drive is so strange,.no one vote for CAYENNE ..thanks,,.
why no one say 996GT3 over 996TT..?which one resale better,or will have less depreciation(lets say 3 years 12k per year)...
i like 996tt style btter than 996GT3...

Carholic,

my suggestions have been based on what I would do if I where you....... I believe you stated that you didn't like suv's. I love my cayenne tt; it is by far the best daily driver I've ever had.

I've had my 996TT twice as long as any other car that I've owned. It could be used as a daily driver; I only drive mine for pleasure... usually early Saturday or Sunday morning. The advantage of buying an '02 or '03 is that someone else has already taken the depreciation hit. At $80,000, there are not a lot of better options.

I have never driven a GT3 or 997S, so my opinions are instinct vs. experience. I don't see the GT3 as a daily driver. I've only heard good things about the 997S and new is usually better than used. The last time I was at the dealer they had a 997 C4S on the floor..... the window was 114 or something ... which is approaching turbo territory.

I would suggest that you go out and drive each of them. then buy what you can afford and the one that feels best in your gut. Don't worry too much about making this decision because there will always being another and another car to buy.... this is a sickness that we have.

good luck and enjoy the process

Or get a CPO Cayenne S and CPO BMW M3. But my first option, like MJA 996TT said, is to go with a rental car SUV and buy a new or CPO 997S

yes.CPO CSis good..but..there is nothing about 50 grand car that i like .even used.4 years ago i purchase a slk32.not the m3 just because too many m3.
997s nice..will depreciate alot...but 996tt looks better,and $70k the market is really good,i dont see 996TT will drop too much over afew years.even i sale it 1 or 2 or 3 years...not like the 997s...thats why,...
i lost alot when i sale my slk32 ...i can tell you .i could lease for a used tt at that time...man..sold it less than 2 years,
