Front plate? Anyone? Anyone?
Don't have one ony any of my cars. The only time I have been ticketed for no front plate was when my GL was parked at LAX long term parking for 2 weeks. I paid the fine and that was it. I like the suction cup idea though, next time I go to LAX, I will stick it on the window. I bet the Passport or V1 suction cups will fit perfectly in the screw holes.
Got my new plates for my new pepper, went out to put them on and no front license plate holder. Called the dealer, a tech called back and said to look in the spare tire well. I asked why they didn't mount the holder and he said they never put them on Porsche and went on to say that Ohio Troopers don't care and won't say anything. What a line of BS, I asked him to put it in writing and fax it to me, the part about Porsches not needing them, the fax never came thru. They were just to cheap and lazy, I ended up installing it myself.
Kevin, I wish I had a pair big enough to do the front window! I do all of my windows including limo on the moonroof but the front windshield takes some *****! The temps in Fresno and Bako should qualify for a window tint ticket exemption!
I agree, you know the front really isn't that noticable I do 50%, worse case scenario you pay the fix it ticket and pull it off. If you can't find a shop to do in Bakersfield, let me know my shop here will do it for you.
I love the look without the front plates (especially on the turbo cayenne). I have been thinking about removing the front plate.
When I was visiting relatives in Cali last year, I noticed many cars without front plates and rear plates. All they had were temp. papers in the windshield (my cousin had the temp for almost 2 months)
The tinted windshield is also pretty popular in Cali.....it makes the car look even better....especially on a dark car.

i never put a front licence plate on any of my cars, but its not really a big deal in los angeles, and if you do get pulled over its just a 10 dollar fix it ticket. i think you should put the plate on the dash, u have nothing to loose and the cop will think twice weither to give the ticket or not, better than nothing i guess.
No front plate on my '06 (7 months) although considering one to avoid giving a Cop a reason to pull me over. (Although I have tinted windows, which is enough for my local PD to pull me over.) A plate in the window means nothing to the Cops around here. Front plates are for the intersections with cameras, so in OC/LA they write if the plate is not at the proper height on the car, so the plate in the window is still a violation.
I see lots of cars driving around with no front plate here in California. Getting a tix for that is like getting cited for driving 70 MPH in a 65 zone -- plain bull crap.
BTW, no way am I joining the 11-99 Foundation!

Got pulled over in my GT3 because the CHP officer thought I'd blown through a stop sign a few hundred feet back. I explained I'd actually made a complete stop and gave him a thorough description of the pickup truck I had yielded to at the prior intersection. Now, lacking purpose, he walked around to the front of the car and his face lit up to see....no front plate! I asked him if having it in the windshield would help - he just laughed, handed me the ticket and went on his way. When I bought the holder for the front plate at the dealer, the parts guy asked: 'this is just for show & tell, right?' What a silly game we have to play.
