Checked out RR Sport SC today
Checked out Range Rover Sport Supercharged today. I've seen SOOOOO many here in SoCal I wanted to see what all the fuss is about.
Looks, pretty nice. Very low to the ground maybe 2-3" of clearance between OEM 275/40-20 and fender. Cool grill/lights... Very "hip" and fresh. Interior reminds me of X5. Lots of goodies, lots of features. Air susp, DVD entertmt system, lots of toys...
Price, $75K for Supercharged $60k for HSE model.
Notes: 700 pounds more than my Cayenne with 305hp or 390hp... not very impressive acceleration, 8.3 sec and 7.2 secs. 305hp V8 beats my Cayenne to 60 by maybe a car length or two.
Car Salesmen.... lol gotta love em. Tells me about special lease deal, $3000 drive off at $1300/month.
I reacted as if a fly went in my ear... remembering that a CS @ $75K would have been $950-1000 thru Chase. He went on to tell me that the RR might not be as nimble as the Cayenne because the Cayenne is smaller and lighter, lol... I watched an Edmunds Test video and even the SC Sport had a lot of body lean...
I'm stayin' in the Porsche camp. Might trade her in for a 2008 next summer... might even stick with the V6 if Porsche delivers it @ 285hp+
But color... I'd like Pure Red in an 08 or maybe Lapis or Titanium.... but must have the beige interior. I have a love/hate relationship with the beige interior, it gets so damn dirty but looks great.

I really like the look of the RR Sport SC. It is just such a mean looking truck. Was really torn and thought about picking one up... until I drove it. I guess I was hoping it would be more like an ML55/ML63/X5 4.6/X5 4.8/CTT in terms of performance and feel.
Bottom line: Went with the CTT instead and have never looked back.

They look great. Almost bought on for wifey. But the handling was weak. I just couldn’t pull the trigger on a sport ute that can be out performed on a slalom course by a Prius. More than likely we will drop the ML55 and get a CTT.
Hi guys, 1st time posting here. Owner of a 03 C2 996 and, as of Sunday, an 04 CTT.
I looked hard and drove both the RR Sport Supercharged and and standard V8 (300hp). Both nice looking 4wd trucks. Of the two, I would pick the supercharged version if nothing better showed up.
However, after visiting 2 dealers and talking on the phone to a 3rd, I simple didn't like their style of selling. Which affected how they would treat me after the sale???? They gave me a clear feeling as though they didn't appreciate my patronage.
Yet, their selling an unproven vehicle with a questionable future at sticker plus+ and loading them up with every extra.
More importantly, they didn't know how to sell high end cars, nor did they understand high end buyers, and their financial institutions rates were pathetic. The only standard item I liked was they came with Bluetooth.
Bottom line, I went back to my P-Car dealer, was treated extremely well, test drow my first CTT and bought it, there was no comparision! And, I suspect, my amazement will hang around for a long time, thanks to {{{{acceleration}}}}

I've been into all kinds of British cars for a long time. In general, the British manufacturers really know how to design an appealing looking vehicle inside and out. So why did I buy a Porsche Cayenne? Well, for the very reason that I know British cars too well. The problem with British cars is that while they may look good, they don't function as well as they look, and they don't keep on functioning!
Porsche definitely has the edge in terms of engineering, performance, build quality, and design. It's been that way for a long time, and it isn't going to change any time soon.
Now let me be more specific. The RRS has a new Jaguar engine. They've been having trouble mating it to the rest of the car, although Land Rover claims to have resolved the problem. The engine does not deliver sufficient power for the weight of the car unless it's in super-charged form. Based on my experience with Jaguars, you will find a fair number of things go wrong over the course of time, such as having some hoses dripping something, some seal on the car leaking, or the AC going out for a number of reasons, etc. The interior of any Range Rover product always looks like eye candy, but take a look at one that's 5 or 10 years old. Various things will have fallen out, and the leather seat will look worn. Look at the market value of any 5-10 year old Land Rover product, and ask yourself it they are worth paying MSRP for.
