Excessive pricing on parts by greedy dealer

So, this morning I called the dealer for availability and pricing on a rear cargo mat. They were out of stock, but could get me one for Tuesday- $177 + tax. "Everyone else sells it for $150," I said, "I guess I can match that," he said- "but no PCA discount off $150, it has to come off $177." So I called the other local dealer who is 20 minutes in the other direction, and they quoted $150 to be MSRP, and said they had it in stock- except now it's in my car. So, my greedy dealer lost the sale

3 days a go they told me they sell Fabspeed, and the bypass for my V6 is $295, to which I said okay. Then they said, "plus shipping." I retorted with the reminder that in that case I'll buy it myself online to save the tax $$$, and they repeated that if I want them to get it I have to pay the shiping; I, of course, replied with the obvious- "that's caled the cost of doing business- if you want to sell it to me you have to actually have it- no shipping charge for me , or I'll get it elsewhere and save the tax $$$, unless you will give me my PCA discount on the part"; they said the PCA discount does not apply to non-Porsche parts. I said, take care and have a nice day, you just lost another sale.
I like their service, yet they wonder why I have parts that they didn't sell me- DUH!

i just saved about $400 parts plus 07 calendar and some labors...

i made my investment back plus friendship.

+1 Cognac.

Me being an Advisor... Things like that DO go a long way. It makes you look into other possibilities, or how to cut costs, or parts to play along and help you on pricing. I try to do my best to give EVERYONE the best deal they can get; IE: price matching, matching coupons, applying coupons (even if they don't have any), etc.

But to those who have established a personal relationship with me, they will get the best possible deal out there. Not only have I taken care of them and their vehicle to the fullest extent, they will take care of me. By this statement, I do not mean it in monetary values or any type of gifts, but sometimes this is the case. Some clients go out of their way to try and accommodate ME when it comes to THEIR vehicle. Little things go a long way. Christmas booze I have received from customers... I am on my last bottle of wine, but that's OK. I made it a couple weeks on about 3 dozen gifts of bottles of wine, booze, beer, cake, food, free meals at restaurants, etc.

Now that is coming from me, and me only being a Service Advisor. I can't speak for all places.

I didn't care about not getting my PCA discount on the Fabspeed because I can understand on Porsche parts only, and I didn't care about the tax $$$ because I want to give them my business. it's just the gaul of asking me to pay shipping from Fabspeed to the dealership so that they could sell it to me and earn a profit. It's goes to Cost of Goods Sold- it's SOP. When you buy a bag of Doritos at the grocer do they charge you the $3.69 stamped on the bag and then say plus 7% for tax and plus another $1 for delivery? No! Principle!
I e-mail the parts manager for prices on things and he doesn't even reply. First he said he didn't get my e-mails, and then he told me to use a different address- to which he never responds either. I always e-mail him first because I want to give him my business, but that is my main mode of communication, which I have told him, and he does not reply- so a week later I end up elsewhere.
When all the dealers charge the same price for the cargo mat and my dealer tries to charge me almost 20% more until I let him know that I know what MSRP is on the product, and then he offers it to me retail- it's shameful.
I agree with the one hand washes the other, and I agree with taking care of people who service my car. The Svc Mgr at my Audi dealerhip is a great guy and we are very friendly; I am on very good terms with the Svc Mgr at my Porsche Dealership too, but the Parts manager is a piece of work.
I'll keep trying, but I won't be abused.

HBL in tyson is by far one of the highest priced dealer in terms of everything.
they want 1k for 20k service whereas most other dealers around the country is 40-60% cheaper. :-(

And why is that? Do they think that if you own a Porsche they can charge you extra because you spent so much thus far and what's a little more?
I'll pay more for a quality product, and quality work- but charging more than MSRP just to see how much they can get is going too far.
My Svc Mgr quoted me $550 on a 20K service for a V6. The service prices at my dealer are very reasonable, just not the Tequipment and aftermarket goodies.
