400 miles and Loving The Cayenne S
400 miles and Loving The Cayenne S
We’ve had our Cayenne a little less than a week now and I can’t say enough awesome things about it – it is soooo sweet. The bad news is I want one of my own now – except maybe with “turbo” scribbled between the Cayenne and S – but that is years away!!!!
The Cayenne drives much more like a sport sedan rather than a big SUV. Both my wife and I find it difficult not to speed. On the highway cruising at 85 is effortless and a few spurts in the low 100s seemed no different. The cornering is astounding for a vehicle this size – I am truly sold.
I am really impressed by the Tiptronic tranny. It is very smooth shifting. More importantly I enjoy the way it will hold a gear depending on what we're driving (for example a lonnnnng hill) as opposed to bouncing in and out of gears (like other automatics that I've driven).
I can't wait to break in the motor - the torque is wonderful and I am dying to really stomp on it.
The 18” Pirelli Scorpions are working very well here in VT – fantastic snow vehicle! (package purchased from Tire Rack)
I can also say that we’re enjoying the ‘luxury’ aspects of our new purchase. It is super comfortable. The climate control system seems top notch. PCM is PCM. The little things like the welcoming lights on the side view mirrors, motorized collapsible side view mirrors, and pano-roof are great. Here’s the one frivolous option that the car has that might be my favorite: the heated steering wheel that comes on automatically! It’s better than the heated seats!!!
The ski bag is also pretty cool. I included some pics for anyone who is not clear about what this no-cost option does….we like it!
