Got the call! My CTT is @ dealership finally!! PICS!!

Got the call... my car finally arrived after 3 months this morning. Im headed there later this afternoon with the wife to check it out... Hopefully it will be registered and in my garage by tomorrow. My vanity plate has been sitting at the DMV for over a month now "CTT"

-My question.... what is the proper break in procedure for a Cayenne Turbo? Thanks guys....

Just got back... snapped some sucky camera phone pics (pics do not do her justice).... more later this week after she comes home... BTW I test drove her... WOW! the power and cornering (PDCC) is amazing...

I think you'll find a very diverse opinion on proper break in. Some guys say that the factory already has these cars broken in and that the reccomendation is more of a liability thing. Others think you should be stubborn about it...

Congrats, wow that seemed like forever!!!! Can't wait to see pics now and when you are done modding....
As far as break in for my '06 CTTS, I did an easy 500 miles and that was all I could take. I don't beat on it by any means but I drive it and enjoy what it has to offer.

Hey congratz Bernie!! I am sure it is a stunner!.. Please post some pics ASAP

Break in: the main mechanic at my dealer told me that all Cayennes (V6, S, TT) need at least 1500 miles (under 4k rpm and 100mph)

The manual for my '08 CTT (yes, there is one and I've actually scanned it) says on Page 8 to not exceed 4,200 RPMs and to avoid full-throttle starts for the first 2,000 miles.

I'm always amazed at how many guys think that it's better to do something different than what Porsche's owner's manual says.

I've owned 12 Porsches since 1974, always following the break-in instructions in the owners manual and have NEVER had a major motor problem. The same guys will probably say it's just a coincidence.

excellence magazine has recommended break in procedures that are less than the manual.

not saying it's a coincidence; just saying it's unnecessary

If it was absolutely necessary to follow that procedure there would be a big red sticker on the steering wheel and they would limit the ECU during the first 2k miles. Its a car, not the space shuttle!
Here's my thought, if it was really that crucial then they would break it in at the factory and then install the 0 miles speedo.

Congrats Bernie. Be easy on the driveline, but the engine can be revved IMO. It is already borken in at the factory.

Thats a funny thing because I thought i viewed a video recently that stated Porsche test drives every single car that comes off the line before it is shipped. And it showed that they run the **** out of them when they do the test.

Does not make since to me....does anybody know for sure?
